Xsolla Curine Academy to host Global Game Jam 2024 in Kuala Lumpur

Asia Tech Wire (Jan 24) -- Xsolla Curine Academy, a joint educational venture between U.S. video game commerce company Xsolla and Malaysian investment firm Curine Ventures, announce its hosting of the Global Game Jam 2024 in Kuala Lumpur.

Xsolla Curine Academy said this event will gather game developers from diverse backgrounds for an intense and exhilarating 48-hour game creation marathon from January 26th to 28th at the Xsolla office in Bangsar South.

In September 2023, Xsolla and Curine Ventures announced a partnership to launch Xsolla Curine Academy, an initiative dedicated to nurturing and empowering local talent within the video game industry.

Its goal is to provide game developers with a comprehensive, industry-leading program designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in the industry, according to Xsolla.

The Global Game Jam, spanning over 100 countries, has the potential to be the most significant game creation event globally, drawing thousands of participants—called "jammers"—for a spirited 48-hour competition.
