Asian Tech Press (Nov 21) -- X Corp. CEO Linda Yaccarino urged employees to find new revenue streams during a hastily convened all-hands meeting on Monday, Fortune reported.
She also asked employees to be "as fiscally responsible as possible," including spending money only on "critical and necessary travel."
However, billionaire Elon Musk, the owner of the social media platform, was not present at the meeting.
The company has just updated its travel policy, and some trips may need to be approved by Yaccarino or Musk, the report said, citing a person familiar with the matter.
Yaccarino said, "And by all means, put your heads together to bring new revenue into the company."
A number of advertisers, including IBM, Apple, Disney and Paramount, have recently announced that they are suspending their advertising on X.
Earlier, Media Matters for America, a far-left nonprofit, said it had discovered that X had placed ads for companies such as IBM, Apple, Oracle and Comcast with antisemitic content, including praise for Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party.
X sued Media Matters in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division, for defamation on Monday, and is seeking damages.
