Tesla intends to invest $5 billion to build plant in Thailand, says Thai PM

Asian Tech Press (Nov 27) -- Tesla has expressed interest in building a new factory in Thailand with an investment of at least $5 billion, Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said, according to Thai media outlet The Nation.

A second-tier management delegation overseeing Tesla's investment plans has arrived in Thailand to inspect the sites for the new factory, the report said on Monday.

Srettha would be accompanying Tesla executives to experience the Yi Peng Lantern Festival in Chiang Mai on Monday, a chance to showcase Thai culture and traditions.
