SK Hynix starts shipping latest mobile DRAM chips to China's vivo

Asian Tech Press (Nov 13) -- South Korea's SK Hynix said Monday it has started shipping its latest mobile DRAM chips to Chinese smartphone maker vivo.

SK Hynix said in a statement that the 16 gigabyte (GB) packages of Low Power Double Data Rate 5 Turbo (LPDDR5T), is "the fastest mobile DRAM available today that can transfer 9.6 gigabits per second (Gbps)."

The mobile DRAM that the South Korean chipmaker developed in January this year, will come on vivo's latest smartphones, X100 and X100 Pro, along with MediaTek's newest flagship mobile application processor (AP) "Dimensity 9300".

Remarkably, the supply to vivo is the first commercialization of SK Hynix's LPDDR5T technology.
