Asian Tech Press (Apr. 29) -- Samsung Display CEO met with Tim Cook and asked Apple to guarantee the purchase of OLED panels.

Joo-Sun Choi, president and CEO of Samsung Display, flew to the U.S. to meet with Apple CEO Tim Cook.

He was on a business trip when learning of Apple's decision to cut annual iPhone output by 15% this year.

It's said that during the meeting with Cook, Choi asked not to reduce the amount of OLED panels purchased as initially promised.

Apple set a 220 million iPhone 2022 production schedule late last year and notified its component suppliers accordingly. Of those, Samsung Display received orders from Apple for an expected supply of 160 million iPhone OLEDs.
