
Asian Tech Press (Jan 21) -- Hyundai Motor, South Korea's largest automaker, and Samsung Electronics, South Korea's largest electronics manufacturer, are considering allying to the field of automotive chips. Executives of the two companies have recently had discussions on forming an alliance in automotive chips.
Market observers believe that the two companies may conduct joint research and development in the future in the automotive integrated circuit.
Industry insiders expect that Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor will focus on power semiconductors and micro control units, using Samsung's experience in automotive chip design to producing automotive integrated circuit components using 7nm and below processes.
