Asian Tech Press (Aug 5) -- Tesla CEO Elon Musk denied that he is building a private airport in Texas.

Musk denied rumors Thursday that he intends to build a private airport near Austin, Texas, calling it a silly idea because Tesla's megafactory is just five minutes from the Austin Bergstrom International Airport.

Musk, however, thought the existing commercial airport needs another runway because Austin is growing rapidly.

That followed reports that the billionaire was going to build a private airport, which would be somewhere east of Austin, near Bastrop.

Reports also mentioned that Musk intends to make the airport available to employees at his companies Tesla, SpaceX and Boring, in addition to his own use, upon its construction.
