Microsoft offers Sony 10-year deal for "Call of Duty" releases on PlayStation
Dec.6,2022

Asian Tech Press (Dec 6) -- Microsoft said it has offered Sony a 10-year contract for "Call of Duty" releases available on PlayStation.

Microsoft Corp. president Brad Smith said the company has offered Sony a 10-year contract that would allow each new release of Activision Blizzard's "Call of Duty" to hit Sony's PlayStation on the same day it comes to Xbox, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

With this new offer, Microsoft is apparently trying to appease regulators and Sony, a concession that recent rumors have hinted at.

Microsoft announced its acquisition of Activision Blizzard in January 2022, but has encountered regulatory resistance in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Japanese gaming giant Sony has also criticized the nearly $69 billion deal, even calling on regulators to veto it.
