Foxconn to set up EV parts factory in Europe

Asian Tech Press (Feb 2) -- Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd., trading as Foxconn Technology Group, the world's largest iPhone assembler, plans to set up electric vehicle parts plant in Europe.

Foxconn Chairman Young Liu revealed on Wednesday that the company is planning to set up an electric vehicle parts plant in Europe for the first time, and originally had ICT-related plants in several places across Europe.

In addition, he said he will visit customers in the U.S. from March to April, attend several signing events, and make his first trip to the Ohio plant that Foxconn purchased from U.S. electric vehicle startup Lordstown Motors Corp., during which he may also announce new plans for facilities in Wisconsin and visit plants in Mexico.

Liu said that the company will definitely introduce new EV models at this year's Hon Hai Tech Day event. At Hon Hai Tech Day events over the past two years, Foxconn has unveiled five EV prototypes, including the luxury sedan Model E, the light SUV Model C, the electric bus Model T, the crossover vehicle Model B and the electric pickup truck Model V.
