Emirates orders 95 Boeing aircraft worth $52 billion

Asian Tech Press (Nov 14) -- UAE-based airline Emirates will buy 95 wide-body aircraft from Boeing to expand its long-haul fleet in the coming years.

Emirates has placed a new order with Boeing Commercial Airplanes for 55 777-9s, 35 777-8s and five 787 Dreamliners, Emirates said Monday.

The deal took place at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai, UAE, where the five-day Dubai Airshow 2023 opened.

And Emirates said the order is worth $52 billion, will increase the number of Boeing 777 series airplanes owned by the carrier to 205 and bring its Boeing 787 Dreamliner order to 35 units.

Emirates is the world's largest operator of Boeing 777 series aircraft and currently has nearly 150 Boeing 777s in its fleet.
