Asian Tech Press (Oct 17) -- Global smartphone sell-through volumes fell 8% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2023, according to the latest research from Counterpoint.
Notably, this is the ninth consecutive quarter recording a year-on-year decline, but a 2% increase quarter-on-quarter.
Tuesday's report noted that Chinese smartphone makers Honor, Huawei and Transsion Group gained market share and were the only brands to achieve year-over-year growth in the third quarter.
The firm predicted that the global smartphone market would halt its series of YoY declines in the fourth quarter, but still expected to record declines for the full year of 2023, reaching its lowest level in a decade.
