Asian Tech Press (Sep 30) -- China's first mRNA COVID-19 vaccine received approval for use in Indonesia.

Indonesia's National Agency of Drug and Food Control announced Thursday that it has granted Chinese mRNA vaccine AWcorna an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the prevention of COVID-19 through active immunization in people aged 18 years and older.

This is China's first mRNA vaccine to receive emergency use authorization against COVID-19, marking a significant advancement in the country's technological pathway for this novel vaccine.

AWcorna, originally known as ARCoV, is an mRNA vaccine against the original strain of COVID-19, jointly developed by Suzhou Abogen Biosciences, the PLA Academy of Military Science, and Walvax Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
